Fathers Day

Proverbs 22:6
6 Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it.

Pastors, you might have some new faces today with it being Fathers Day. Be ready to welcome them and give them a message that brings them back next week. We also lift you up in prayer.

The responsibilities that go with being a father never end. They truly begin at conception and then they don’t stop when a child turns 18 or when they move out.

Do a good job with young children along with older children, as well. We all need guidance, no matter what the age. Keep sharpening iron. Hold the standard and the line, no matter when. Consistency leads to better results. Be good fathers and be good children.

Make it a great day in the trenches. Be exceptional at being you.

Love,

Yancey

Sit Back

2 Peter 3:8
8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.

I saw a church sign today that said to sit back and let God do what God does. That is a struggle point for me. I try to make things move forward.

I would say that doing that shows my lack of faith and I doubt I’m the only one.

Take heed to that advice. Sit back and let God do what God does.

I hope you continue to make it a great day in the trenches. Be exceptional at being you.

Love,

Yancey

Philippians 4:19

Philippians 4:19 New International Version

19 And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

Men, please believe what this scripture says! But first, what does it not say? I know it doesn’t say will meet some of your needs, I know it doesn’t say you can supply your own needs, I know it doesn’t say you can do it through your own power and glory….NO! This is simple and you should speak it over all your situations, HE WILL MEET ALL YOUR NEEDS!

Make sure when you are praying, your needs are based on God’s will and not your fleshly desires, pray in the spirit, and watch Him work!

All His Promises Are Yes and Amen

2 Corinthians 1:20-22 ESV — For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory. And it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us, and who has also put his seal on us and given us his Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.

Who am I not to worship you?

I don’t know about you all but it seems as I grow older, sometimes I find myself getting more frustrated with things in the world that don’t make sense to me. I don’t want to be that guy: Get off my lawn! The guy who basically shakes his fist at the world. God is God and I am not. He is in control even when it seems the world is out of control. The Bible pretty much states harder times are coming. No matter what, I need to trust in the Lord. He is Holy. He is good. He is sovereign and His ways are best. He is worthy of my trust and my worship because of who He is. This simple song has helped me focus on that.

To Not Worship You

I’m losing sight of all that matters
Blinded by questions I can’t answer
I’m paralyzed by what I don’t know
Doubt holds me hostage and won’t let go

Breathe out
Breathe in
Raise my hands
And remember

You’re the one
You’re the one who
Makes the mountains move
Stars will not shine
Unless You tell them to
Tell them to
Conquered the grave
To make all things new
So who am I
Who am I
To not worship You
Who am I
Who am I
To not worship You

Remind me who I am because of You
Tell me I’m not the man I once knew
‘Cause I still feel so undeserving
What could You see in someone like me

Breathe out
Breathe in
Raise my hands
And surrender

You’re the one
You’re the one who
Makes the mountains move
Stars will not shine
Unless You tell them to
Tell them to
Conquered the grave
To make all things new
So who am I
Who am I
To not worship You
Who am I
Who am I
To not worship You

Holy holy
You are God Almighty
Who was and is
And will always be
Holy holy
You are God Almighty
You are my song
You are my hope
My strength

Holy holy
You are God Almighty
Who was and is
And will always be
Holy holy
You are God Almighty
You are my song
You are my hope
My strength

Let everything that breathes
Sing

You’re the one
You’re the one who
Makes the mountains move
Stars will not shine
Unless You tell them to
Tell them to
Conquered the grave
To make all things new
So who am I
Who am I
To not worship the one
Who makes the mountains move
Stars will not shine
Unless You tell them to
Tell them to
Conquered the grave
To make all things new
So who am I
Who am I
To not worship You
Who am I
Who am I
To not worship You
Who am I
Who am I
To not worship You

Be an Example – Live a Good Life

1 Peter 2:12
12 Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.

Pastors, we’re sorry when we take you for granted. Prayers for each one of you on this message. It’s a great Sunday to use your gifts to glorify the Word.

I saw the screen shot above the other day and saved it for a message. The words themselves are not scripture, but the approach can fit in a lot of places biblically.

I don’t always do a great or even a good job being an example. I’m sure I’m not alone and we can all work on it. Let this simply serve as a friendly and loving reminder to do so.

Make it a great week in the trenches. Be exceptional at being you.

Love,

Yancey

Love Yous and Goodbyes

1 Corinthians 13:13
13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.

Personal story … today is the two year anniversary of my mom’s passing. On top of that, my dad and I attended a funeral for a lady that our family has known for a long time.

As I was sitting at the funeral today, the importance of telling people that we love them came to mind.

Whether we’re happy, sad, or somewhere in between, we need to always tell others that we love them. It isn’t possible to say it enough or too much. Sadly, we never know when that last, “I love you” will come …

Make it a great rest of the day in the trenches. Be exceptional at being you.

Love,

Yancey

Thursday Prayer

Lord,

We are thankful. We are full of thanks. Forgive us of the times where we seem entitled, disheartened and down right spoiled. We want to glorify you in all that we do, guide our steps as Fathers, Husbands, Sons, Brothers, and help us to be Christ like. Give us a peace and a joy that transcends all understanding. Help us to understand the difference between joy and happiness. Thank you Lord for each and every man on this message. Continue to bless them in many mighty ways. Bless their home life, their professional life, and bless their finances. Thank you Lord, we know you are worthy of all praise!

Amen

How Majestic Is Your Name

Psalm 8

How Majestic Is Your Name

To the choirmaster: according to The pGittith.1 A Psalm of David.

1 O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your qname in all the earth!

You have set your rglory above the heavens.

sOut of the mouth of babies and infants, you have established strength because of your foes,

to still uthe enemy and the avenger.

When I vlook at your heavens, the work of your wfingers,

the moon and the stars, xwhich you have set in place,

ywhat is man that you are zmindful of him,

and athe son of man that you bcare for him?

Yet you have made him a little lower than cthe heavenly beings2

and crowned him with dglory and honor.

 You have given him edominion over the works of your hands;

fyou have put all things under his feet,

 all sheep and oxen,

and also the beasts of the field,

the birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea,

whatever passes along the paths of the seas.

 O LORD, our Lord,

how majestic is your name in all the earth!

The Lord is majestic and glorious! May you behold his glory in your time with Him: seeking Him, His character, His purposes and His promises. May you behold his glory in the everyday moments of seeing His creation, His work around you, His work in you as you live for Him. Praise Him, Worship Him, Trust Him, Enjoy Him!
