Teaching and Learning

Philippians 4:9
9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

We are on both sides of this equation. We have a responsibility to listen to God and follow His instructions.

Additionally, we need to emulate the message as men of Christ. We are examples to those who look up to us. We have to be good learners and listeners in order to be great teachers.

I hope you had a great day in the trenches. Be exceptional at being you.

Love,

Yancey

Family Friday 6/3: Control

Good morning, men!

Through the struggle of the past few weeks, one thing has been made apparent. My inability to trust God, his plan for me and my family, and what is happening around me, has led to some pretty poor outcomes.

My entire life, I have struggled with anger. Just recently, my eyes have been opened to the fact that the anger comes directly from a lack of control. I just thought I was mad because everyone else was wrong. Pretty elitist.

Today, my challenge to myself and everyone here is to look at the areas of your life where you are unwilling to give God control. Is it your job? Your marriage? Your sex life? Your free time?

It is different for all of us. What I am learning is that we can’t trust God with pockets of our life. We have to hand it ALL over.

I hope you all have a blessed day and a restful weekend!

Wake up

Remember to stay alert and hold firmly to all that you believe. Be mighty and full of courage. Let love and kindness be the motivation behind all that you do.
1 Corinthians 16:13‭-‬14 TPT

Men, it’s time to start fulfilling the call of God on our lives. We were meant for MORE. A people set apart, holy for His purposes and glory.

The parable of the ten virgins has been constant in the back of my back. Half of the virgins were ready to go and had their lamps ready. The others were not. They all fell asleep and the five who weren’t ready missed out on the divine moment of the bridegroom returning.

DO NOT FALL ASLEEP. If you have been feeling like you have the same routine, switch it up. If you’ve been feeling bored, go out and experience something new. Find something that challenges you, that engages your brain in a different way. Be ready.

And in all of this, know the Lord more. He is worthy, faithful, and highly adored. Spend time with Him and get to know how truly sweet He is.

The scariest thing you can do is tell yourself that you’re “good” and surround yourself with people that say the same thing. Be challenged and on the lookout for more ways to grow as a man of God.

WAKE UP!!! The days are dark and YOU (yes you) were meant to shift the atmosphere around you to bring glory to God. Start fighting the good fight when you get to work. Start taking a stand for God’s character because you love Him. Start speaking up for Biblical principles.

I felt the Lord gave me a word to share with others several months ago. I felt to wait to share it until the right time and group. I think this is it:

The Lord is raising up an army of believers who are different. They will not hack away limbs or kill others physically. But by their love, they will go out and change the world. By their love, they will be prepared to share the Father’s heart with others. By their love, they will radically change the world.

This life we have been called to live does us no good if it’s not being practiced. We’ve been given everything we need. It’s similar to a basketball player in a gym. His shoes are there, his clothes, the basketball, and the hoop. But if all he does is sit on the sidelines, thinking and believing he doesn’t have the right tools necessary, he won’t be good.

You have all you need! Go out and use it for the glory of God. May He bless you and pray and everyday.
